Biography
Tyler Spence is an award-winning journalist and editor from Huntington, West Virginia in the M.S. journalism program and is a fellow at the Arnolt Center for Investigative Journalism at Indiana University. Tyler received his undergraduate degree in journalism and public relations from Marshall University and served as executive editor for Marshall’s independent student newspaper, The Parthenon, where he won three awards from the West Virginia Press Association for his work. Tyler also received a grant from Marshall University for a series of stories uncovering how the pandemic impacted the most isolated towns in West Virginia. Tyler most recently covered local policy and government for The Herald-Dispatch, West Virginia’s second-largest daily newspaper.
