Biography
I am a PhD student in the Media School. I received my B.A. in Philosophy and Communication from the University of Tampa and my M.A. in Media, Culture, and Communication from New York University. I was an instructor of record at the University of Tampa from 2015-2017.
My current research is based on the apocalyptic aesthetic of post-Punk and Industrial performance from the late 1970s. I focus on groups like Survival Research Labs, who used semi-autonomous machines in live performances to explore ideas about the role of technology, media embodiment, and war in industrialized countries.
