Biography
Ben Gillard is a first-year joint JD/M.S. in Media Management student. He attended Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, New York, where he received his Bachelor of Arts in Film and Drama.
As an experienced actor and comedian, Ben was an active member of Vassar’s comedy and student theater scenes, where he served as the president of the Nitrous Oxide Comedy Group and acted in multiple shows. Because of his ties to both the film and drama departments, he was seen as one of Vassar’s go-to actors for student films. His experiences on set, combined with his education in screenwriting and acting, helped him develop a passion for both creative storytelling as well as the business of managing and producing films.
As both a law student and a Media School graduate student, Ben seeks to draw on his unique educational background and experiences in order to develop and guide student productions from inception to distribution. Currently, Ben serves as the president of the Sports and Entertainment Law Society and is developing “Next Point Wins,” a podcast and web series dedicated to the business of collegiate athletics, as well as several pilot presentations that he hopes to pitch after graduation! Please feel free to reach out to Ben if you have a short film idea or are in need of an actor or producer!
