Dream job is to work for "Sesame Street"
“I'm a junior, and I'm studying media advertising with a minor in marketing. I'm from Minnesota originally, so I came here not really knowing anyone. With freshman year, COVID happened, so that was intimidating. But I've come to love my time here. I’m loving every second of it, and I love getting really involved in The Media School.
I came from a really small high school where I graduated with around 90 girls, so everyone was kind of pushing me toward a smaller school. I kept leaning toward larger schools like Miami of Ohio and Indiana. And then when it came down to my decision, it was just really clear that of those options, Indiana was going to be my best bet.
I’ve been a media ambassador; this is my first year, and I really love it, although it was intimidating at first. I do like giving tours and talking about my experience to prospective students. It's really fun to feel like I'm a leader in some way within The Media School because The Media School was kind of how I ended up here — I want to have that influence on a prospective student.
My dream job would be to work for 'Sesame Street.' I feel like there's so much more media for kids, which I don't necessarily think is a great thing, but I just think it is going to keep happening. And so I kind of want to dig into that. What I love about 'Sesame Street' is that it's helping educate kids like from the get go. Their mission was and is to be a resource for kids that didn't have resources like preschool and all that stuff. So I want to help with that mission and help facilitate that mission.”
