Weaver paper on journalists, social media in journal
Distinguished Professor Emeritus David Weaver’s paper, “Changes in U.S. Journalism: How do journalists think about social media?” was published recently in the Taylor and Francis Online Journal.
The study surveyed 1,080 U.S. journalists on how they feel about the rise of social media and its impact on their careers and the journalistic profession. The study found that a majority of those surveyed believe social media has a positive impact on their work, but not necessarily on the journalistic profession.
Weaver was a professor in the former IU School of Journalism from 1974 to 2011, teaching research methods and political communication.
