‘Stalk Her’ wins regional Student Production Award
A short film created by five IU students won a first-place award in the Lower Great Lakes Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences’ Student Production Awards this weekend, presented as part of the regional Emmy awards.
IU’s Caleb Allison, Patrick Dieterlen, Jack Ritter, Isaak Liu and Matt Jacobs won the short-form fiction category for the film, “Stalk Her.”
“Stalk Her” was produced in senior lecturer Susanne Schwibs’ Double Exposure class, which allows for collaboration across schools for the creation of short films and scores. The film was selected for several film festivals, including the virtual PopCon Indy, the Circle City Film Festival and the Montage Film Festival.
Other Media School students earned nominations for their work:
- Haley Klezmer, in the Short-form Nonfiction category with “Queen KP”
- Mallorey Daunhauer, in the Long-form Nonfiction category with “Never Daunted”
- Jacob Einstein, in the Arts/Entertainment/Cultural Affairs category with “To Make Art”
- Kathryn Jankowski and Noah Barajas in the Short-form Fiction category with “Self-Love”
