Sellers presents paper at digital games conference
Professor of practice Mike Sellers presented his paper, “Creating Emergent Narratives Using Motivated, Social NPCs,” at the Foundations for Digital Games conference Aug. 1-6 in Scotland.
Sellers co-authored the paper with IU undergraduate students Angela Lograsso and Andrea Reinhardt. It looks at various techniques used to create non-player characters, including their histories and motivations. These techniques involve a combination of game design, narrative design, and programming.
The paper was presented as part of the Social Believability in Games workshop.
