Pierce appointed to FCC’s Intergovernmental Advisory Committee
Media School Senior Lecturer and State Rep. Matt Pierce, D-Bloomington, has been appointed to the Federal Communication Commission’s Intergovernmental Advisory Committee.
The goal of the committee is to “exchange views, information and advice on a range of telecommunications issues for which state, local and Tribal governments explicitly or inherently share responsibility or administration with the Commission,” according to the public notice released by the FCC.
Pierce’s term will begin with the first IAC meeting on April 18 and will operate for two years. At the end of the two years, there will be an option for the committee to reauthorize it.
