Peifer receives Collaborative Research Award
Associate professor Jason Peifer was awarded a $7,500 Collaborative Research Award from IU’s Institute for Advanced Studies in support of his media research.
The awards enable faculty to prepare publications, performances, exhibits, symposia, and grant proposals that draw upon the expertise of a group of faculty members at IU or other institutions. Recipients can also use the funds to visit scholars at other institutions or host said scholars at IU.
Peifer’s research explores citizens’ trust in public institutions with special regard to journalism practices, non-traditional news sources, and perceptions of news media’s importance. His research also explores these topics internationally, and he will use his Collaborative Research Award for research strengthening Media School ties to Freie Universität Berlin in Germany.
