Parameswaran elected to AEJMC research committee
Associate Dean Radhika Parameswaran was elected to the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication Standing Committee on Research for a three-year term starting in October.
AEJMC is a nonprofit, educational association of journalism and mass communication educators, students and media professionals.
The duties of AEJMC Research Committee members include:
- Attend committee meetings and during the year participate in planning. Work as a liaison with assigned divisions and interest groups.
- Participate in the selection of the Nafziger-White-Salwen dissertation competition.
- Participate in the solicitation of nominees and choose recipients for the Deutschmann and Blum awards.
- One member takes part in the division/interest group assessment process each year. This requires reading annual reports for five to six groups and participating in a one-on-one interview process at the conference.
- Participate in the planning of the plenary session.
- Assist the association as needed and help develop new ideas and initiatives.
