Osgood’s oral history website wins first place at veterans’ art show
Professor emeritus Ron Osgood’s Vietnam War oral history website won first place in the Indiana Veterans Art Show & Competition’s multimedia category and is now being considered at the national competition.
The festival allows veterans to showcase their artistic talents and skills. Local first-place winners in each art category compete in the 2023 National Veterans Creative Arts Festival.
The award-winning website is one of three components of Osgood’s current work. His oral history project tells the stories of more than 100 Americans, South Vietnamese, North Vietnamese and Koreans living during the Vietnam War. The project includes an interactive website and two documentaries.
Osgood is a veteran himself, and his work often focuses on other veterans’ stories. He has created two documentaries: My Vietnam, Your Iraq and Just Like Me: The Vietnam War — Stories from All Sides.
