Molloy wins 2 Keating categories
Sophomore Mary Claire Molloy won two of four categories in the 34th annual Thomas R. Keating competition, and senior Emily Isaacman placed second in one.
In lieu of the usual daylong spot reporting contest — canceled because of the coronavirus — students submitted published pieces to be judged.
Molloy won the Pandemic category for “Don’t stop believin’: Party-loving Indianapolis neighbors opt for socially distant singing” and the Social Justice category for “Scrubbing away blood the day after Chris Beaty’s death, a man has startling realization,” both published in the Indianapolis Star.
Isaacman placed second in Campus News for “Students call for IU to fire theater professor after IDS publishes sexual harassment allegations” and “IU alumni come forward with additional sexual harassment allegations against Murray McGibbon,” published in the Indiana Daily Student.
