Media student stars in adjunct’s audio adaptation of ‘A Watcher in the Woods’
WTIU/WFIU producer and Media School adjunct instructor Russell McGee recently finished production on a full-cast audio adaptation of Florence Engel Randall’s novel, “A Watcher in the Woods,” which was made popular by the 1980 Disney film adaptation starring Bette Davis.
Media School student Aiden Denehie will star as the production’s male lead, Mark Fleming.
McGee’s series also features the voices of:
- Barbara Rosenblat, audiobook narrator and actress in Netflix’s “Orange is the New Black.”
- Sophie Aldred, actress in “Doctor Who.”
- Bonnie Bogovich, sound designer and voice actress in the game Marvel Snap and audio series “Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic – Resurgence.”
- Deva Marie Gregory, voice actress in video games Starfield and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.
“A Watcher in the Woods,” follows two young girls whose family moves to a country home bordering a forest. The girls begin to experience strange happenings in the house that link to an occult event that took place during a lunar eclipse years ago.
“A Watcher in the Woods” airs on WFIU Public Radio this Sunday. The first episode will air at 6 p.m. and the second will air at 7 p.m. Listeners can tune in on the WFIU1 channel.
