Media School welcomes 431 new students
The Media School will welcome 405 new undergraduate students and 26 new graduate students for the fall semester, a class that’s 24% larger than last year’s.
Undergraduate students
Of the 405 incoming undergraduate students, 96 are direct admits, 266 are standard admits and 43 are transfer students.

An average incoming Media School freshman has a 3.72 high school GPA (an increase from last year’s 3.64 average) and a 1251 SAT score. The class includes 22 first-generation students.

The students have academic backgrounds in journalism, communication, foreign languages, literature, psychology, sociology and anthropology, among others.
Undergraduate institutions include Michigan State University, Trinity College, UCLA, the University of Chinese Academy of Social Science, the University of Nottingham-China and Earlham College, among others.
They come to IU from China, Cuba, India, Kenya, Pakistan, South Korea, Taiwan and the U.S.
