Media School welcomes 377 undergraduate beginners
The Media School has added 377 new students to its ranks this fall with the undergraduate class of 2027. Overall, there are now 2,059 undergraduates currently enrolled in The Media School, setting a school record for undergraduate enrollment. Including all undergraduate and graduate students, the school has a total enrollment of 2,135.
Undergraduate students
The incoming class includes 276 direct admit beginner students, which is a 5% increase compared to fall 2022.
Majors
Of The Media School undergraduate students, 71% are pursuing a media degree, 21% journalism, 4.5% game design, and 3.5% cinematic arts. Undergraduate majors are up 11% in The Media School compared to last fall.
Residency
Fifty-nine percent of undergraduate students in The Media School are residents of Indiana and 41% are from out of state.
Historically marginalized students
For fall 2023, The Media School has enrolled a record 366 historically marginalized undergraduate students, which is 13% larger than last year. A record 74 historically marginalized students make up 20% of The Media School’s fall 2023 undergraduate beginner cohort.
Graduate students
In total, there are currently 76 graduate students in The Media School with 48 pursuing their doctorates, 27 working toward a master’s degree, and one student is earning a graduate certificate.
