Media School introduces PR minor
Students outside The Media School may now add a public relations minor to their degree.
The new 18-credit program includes courses in professional and PR writing, PR planning and research, and PR application, preparing students to apply strategic communication skills to their fields. Classes will cover PR practice in the private, public and nonprofit sectors.
In this minor, students will identify and understand target audiences, craft messages that motivate audiences to act, and reach them online and offline using words, pictures, audio and video that tell a compelling story. In higher-level courses, students will develop campaigns for real-world clients and use social media channels and measurement tools for digital-first communication.
Students interested in the minor may schedule an appointment with a Media School advisor.
