Kilgo publishes Journalism article on Ferguson coverage
Assistant professor Danielle Kilgo has an article in the latest edition of Journalism.
“Framing Ferguson: The interplay of advocacy and journalistic frames in local and national newspaper coverage of Michael Brown” studies the interplay between frames of presentation from journalists and the presence of thematic frames from the advocacy movements in newspaper coverage of Ferguson, Missouri. Stories focused on police accountability and race.
Kilgo co-authored the article with Rachel MourĂ£o of Michigan State University and George Sylvie of the University of Texas at Austin.
