IU named No. 6 sports broadcasting school in country
The Sportscasters Talent Agency of America released its Top 20 sports broadcasting schools ranking this week. IU was named no. 6, and ranked first in the Big Ten.
“We’re honored to be ranked among the top sports broadcasting programs in the country by an organization that knows broadcasting like STAA does,” said Galen Clavio, associate professor and director of the National Sports Journalism Center. “The Media School’s facilities and resources, combined with the working relationship we have forged with Indiana University athletics, helps our students achieve a level of development and career preparation that most schools can’t come close to. I’m incredibly proud of our sports broadcasting students and alumni and all they have accomplished and continue to accomplish. This ranking is a testimonial to them more than anyone else.”
The ranking standards considered quality of instruction, campus radio/TV stations and alumni involvement.
