Guins named IU Presidential Arts and Humanities Fellow
Director of Cinema and Media Studies and professor Raiford Guins was named a 2024-2025 IU Presidential Arts and Humanities Fellow and will receive $50,000 in support of his academic research.
The Fellows Program lasts over an academic year and provides support for the work of outstanding Indiana University faculty poised to become national and international leaders in their fields. Each year, seven to eight fellows are selected to receive the funds. Portions of the funds must be used to bring a guest to an IU campus and to travel for research and/or presentations at other academic locales.
Guins’ research focuses on the history of games, a topic on which he has written extensively. He also studies the relationship between games, technology, and culture. He is currently working on a book about video games in museums.
