Batman producer Uslan stars in IU ad campaign
Professor of practice Michael Uslan is among the IU alumni whose stories are told through a series of commercials produced at IU and aired around the country.
Uslan, producer of the modern Batman movies, earned three degrees at IU before turning to Hollywood. In both the 60- and 30-second versions of the commercials, a young actor portrays Uslan as an IU student, using his comic book collection and love for Batman to convince the folklore department to let him teach a class on comic books.
Other commercials feature ESPN’s Sage Steele. The series of commercials was directed by IU alumnus Angelo Pizzo, who directed Hoosiers and Rudy.
At The Media School, Uslan teaches two intensive sessions each spring, including MSCH-P436 Business of Production Motion Pictures and MSCH-M435 Live from L.A.: Pros Make Movies.
