Adesokan paper looks at ‘cultural turn’
Associate professor Akin Adesokan is author of a paper that was published in December in Frame: A Journal of Literary Studies.
“Postcoloniality and the ‘Cultural Turn’” looks at how culture as a political identifier may bring on violence of representation.
In the research paper, he pulls information from Kwame Anthony Appiah’s essay, “Is the Post- in Postmodernism the Post- in Postcolonial?”
Adesokan concludes that culture is a practice that can’t reflect all the social expressions of all groups in a society.
