“Ana Yurdu (Motherland)” screening
“Ana Yurdu (Motherland)” depicts the journey of an urban, middle-class woman recovering from a divorce. After quitting her office job and leaving behind her life in Istanbul, Nesrin moves into her deceased grandmother’s rural home to finish her novel. The film depicts Nesrin’s relationship with her mother, who turns up uninvited, as the two are forced to confront their differences.
Director Senem Tüzen is scheduled to participate in a post-screening, live-stream Q&A. Producer Adam Isenberg is scheduled to be present.
The event is free, but ticketed.
The Media School’s Center for Documentary Research and Practice is an event co-sponsor.
