CanopyBloomington public relations campaign
Students in Les Morris’ Public Relations Campaigns course were tasked with helping a local nonprofit organization, CanopyBloomington, increase brand awareness and volunteer engagement.
To achieve this, they outlined and implemented several goals for Canopy. The team’s strategy included connecting with college students through class visits, Greek organizations, and university clubs to increase volunteer engagement; establishing a consistent social media schedule with reusable graphics and templated posts; expanding event promotion through local media outlets, such as WFIU, Bloom Magazine, and the Indiana Daily Student.
Deliverables included a PowerPoint presentation to use for class visits, press release templates, pictures taken of a tree planting to use in promotional materials, flyers to distribute to the public, and more.
