Radio-Television Building
Built in 1963, the Radio-Television Building has evolved alongside the changing mass communications landscape.
Lecture Hall 251
Lecture Hall 251 is the biggest lecture hall in RTV with a seating capacity of 125. It has entrances on both the first and second floors.
Equipment Checkout
The equipment checkout station gives students access to top-quality equipment for use on class projects, including Canon C300 mark iii camera kits, Canon XF605 camcorders, Arri light kits and various other cameras, lights and professional audio equipment.
Production Lab
The production lab is a student workspace, featuring Macintosh workstations and equipment checkout.
Edit Bay
The edit bay consists of four isolated editing PCs with connectivity to Blackmagic Design UltraScope.
Dick Yoakam Endowment
The Dick Yoakam Technology Endowment was established in 1998 to honor Dick Yoakam, professor of telecommunications and journalism at IU from 1957-1989.
Voiceover Stations
Voiceover stations allow students to record a narrative-style voiceover to use in student projects. These stations are for recording a single voice.
Audio Recording Booth
The audio recording booth is a sound-treated audio editing suite that students can use to work on audio for projects.
Computer Lab
The computer lab has more than 20 Macintosh production stations with Adobe CC Software, including Premiere Pro, Photoshop, After Effects and Audition.
Whisper Room
The Whisper Room is a sound isolation enclosure where students can film sounds. The room includes props for capturing sounds on grass, wood, gravel and brick.
Loading Dock
The loading dock is used to bring in large props and set pieces for use in student productions.
Scene Shop/Set Storage
The scene shop and set storage is a space where larger pieces, such as furniture and WTIU's set pieces, can be stored. Sets are also built here, so this space features raw materials and a workshop area.
Studio 5
Studio 5 is a 2,800-square foot studio that was converted into a soundstage. Students can film projects with complete control over their productions, including design. Studio 5 includes cutting-edge equipment, such as: 30-foot Jimmy Jib Lite, ETC Element light board, DMX and traditional studio dimmer lighting, Round-D-Round Doorway Dolly and INCA 12 Arri 2K lights.
Grip and Electric Closet
The grip and electric closet features high-tech lighting equipment, including Arri and Inca lights, light gels and multiple types of stands and hardware.
Ernie's
Ernie's is another customizable set that students can use in their projects. It can be used for scenes taking place in a restaurant, pub, bar, coffee shop or other business.

Alleyway Backdrop
This backdrop provides another scene option for students who want to use an outdoor alleyway background in their projects.
Fly System
The fly system is used to move scenery and lights up and down on the lighting grid.
Small Prop Storage Room
The small prop storage room is where smaller, movable props are stored. Larger props are stored in the scene shop and set storage space.
Apartment Set
Students can use this apartment set to film scenes taking place in an apartment or residential area. The set can be customized to fit student project needs.
Pre-production Room
The pre-production meeting room is a space for pre-production planning. It features a dry erase board for story board planning and a green room where actors can get ready for filming.

This is the corporate development office for WTIU and WFIU.

This is the news department for WTIU and WFIU.
Metz Studio
In 2017, WTIU rededicated its primary studio, formerly Studio 3, as the Metz Studio. The Metz Studio honors radio and television personality Milton Metz and a gift from the Metz family.
WFIU
WFIU, a public radio station, has been broadcasting from the IU Bloomington since October 1950. The station is a charter member of the National Public Radio network and broadcasts 24 hours a day to 20 counties throughout Indiana. In Bloomington, WFIU 1 broadcasts at 34 kilowatts via 103.7 FM, and WFIU 2 broadcasts on 101.9 FM.
WTIU
WTIU, a PBS television station owned and operated by IU, serves more than 600,000 households in 29 counties in West and South-Central Indiana. WTIU airs programming on five digital channels 24 hours a day, and produces local, regional and national programs.
Classroom 180
Classroom 180 is a Media School active learning classroom that seats 25.

Lecture Hall 251 is the biggest lecture hall in RTV with a seating capacity of 125. It has multiple entrances on the first and second floors.
Computer Lab 250
Computer Lab 250 is an active learning classroom that features 18 Macintosh computer stations.
Classroom 245
Classroom 245 is a general lecture hall where Media School classes are held. The seating capacity is 80.
Film Editing Room
The film editing room houses equipment used for traditional methods of film editing, before it was done digitally. This room features five editing stations with movie rewinds, viewers and splicers for viewing and editing film. The room is also home to an animation light box for hand-drawn animation, film bins and storage racks for film reels.
