A story with global impact
Report on one of the most pressing global challenges of our time — pollution and climate change — through the stories of an urgently affected community. Environmental Reporting in Mexico is a four-credit, semester-long course during spring semester that produces news stories for an international audience. The class includes spring break travel to Mexico City.
Taught by professor of practice Joseph Coleman, the course will allow students to witness firsthand the disproportionate implications of climate change on Mexico, and will connect them to government officials, activists and researchers as sources. Students will gain hands-on experience in both environmental communication and international reporting, and will produce professional-level feature stories based on their observations and interviews.
