Use your skills to help preserve history and nature
Join The Media School on a summer break service trip to Congaree National Park, Fort Sumter National Monument and Reconstruction Era National Monument in South Carolina.
As a volunteer, you will work with the National Park Service staff to create a series of short videos and other promotional materials to help share each NPS site's stories with current and future visitors. To create these projects, you’ll take part in the activities, giving you the opportunity to learn about the historic and natural significance of each NPS site.
This is a noncredit-bearing service learning opportunity; it is not a component of a Media School class. All Media School majors are eligible to apply. Students with majors outside of The Media School are welcome to apply and will be considered based on demonstrated interest and experience specific to the service project.
If accepted, you will be required to participate in preparatory meetings and complete work in advance of travel.
