Bloom Magazine
- Interns at Bloom may choose which hours they’d like to work during our office hours: Monday-Thursday from 8:30am-5:30pm.
- Unpaid for the first semester
Day-to-day tasks:
- Fact-check and edit content to ensure accuracy, flow, and AP style consistency.
- Manage social media content through designing graphics, using a social media scheduling system, and ensuring all necessary content is being posted.
- Report and write community-focused features through interviews and independent research.
- Maintain Bloom’s website (on WordPress), including but not limited to updating Bloom’s archives, writing the table of contents, and revising other pages as needed.
- Participate in Bloom’s proofing process every other month to ensure high quality content is being published in each issue.
- Assist the executive publisher with copywriting for various marketing efforts, including emails, paid advertisements, web & social media content, print materials, etc.
Required qualifications:
The right candidate will:
- Have an interest in writing, editing, social media, and journalism.
- Be able to work independently in a small-office environment.
- Be a self-starter, organized, and detail-oriented.
- Experience with social media management, WordPress, and AP Style is a plus, but not required.
