Biography
Talalah Khan’s research agenda sits at the intersection of luxury marketing, fashion consumer behavior, social media and cultural influence. She also investigates the roles of sustainability, artificial intelligence and body image within these overarching domains. With top research paper awards at conferences including ICA and ALMACCR, her work has also been published in the Journal of Marketing Development and Competitiveness, Economicus Journal of Business and Economics Insights, and the Proceedings of EMAC and ICHCI, among other outlets.
She has previously taught courses including Brand Management, Account Planning, Multicultural Marketing, Business Analytics, and Diffusion of Innovations. She has also taught the Executive Program, with specialized courses on digital marketing innovation and social media strategy to professionals from companies like PepsiCo and L’Oréal, and institutions like the World Bank and UNDP.
Now at IU Bloomington, she is part of the Advertising program and teaches the Integrated Marketing Campaign Planning capstone course.
Beyond academia, her endeavors encompass luxury retail and fashion strategy consulting. Her creative background is anchored in apparel and jewelry design, alongside technical expertise in sustainable sublimation textile printing, and eco-conscious footwear and accessory development.
Talalah earned her doctorate, as well as Master’s in Integrated Marketing and Management Communication from Florida State University; she completed her Bachelor’s in Management Science at Lahore University of Management Sciences.
When not engaged in professional pursuits, she enjoys a good monsoon in Pakistan, the baroque museums of the Mediterranean or a cruise in the Caribbean.
