I study communication at The Media School, Indiana University. My research interest centers on the intersection of media sociology and political violence. I specifically examine how the news media interacts with social structures when constructing terrorism narratives in Africa. These inquiries have been shaped and informed by the reporting experience acquired while covering the movements of African terror groups for CNN, Al Jazeera English, Quartz, among others.
