Biography
Beth Bredlau loves Godzilla and thinks you should too. She earned bachelor’s degrees from Loyola University in both Art History and Philosophy, and then her master’s in Art History from Indiana University. Outside of academics, Beth is the founder of Godzilla Weekend, a local Godzilla film and arts festival in town. The festival shows the original, Japanese version of Godzilla films, has post film panels with scholars, local artists, performers and more. She even got the mayor to declare June 27th, 2025, Godzilla day, and June 12th, 2026, Mothra day!
Outside of Bloomington, Beth speaks at national fan convention like GFEST Chicago and Kaiju Brooklyn about Godzilla, makes regular podcast appearances as a Godzilla expert, and speaks at media conferences. Her love of the King of the Monsters started as a kid, watching Svengoolie on Saturday nights, and has grown to Kaiju sized proportions.
Beth loves to research Kaiju film, monsters, B-flicks, horror movies, Asian cinema, fandom, cosplay and dinosaurs
