Kayan Tara is M.S. student in the Media School studying investigative reporting and multimedia journalism. Her primary interests include the effect of climate change in minority communities, gender and sexuality in South Asian communities, race and class relations in the United States, and the role of religion in shaping governmental policies.
She is the first recipient of a fellowship through the Arnolt Center for Investigative Journalism in the Media School. She received dual B.A.s in English and Theatre Arts from Loyola Marymount University in 2020.
