Deonna Weatherly founded Weatherhouse Institute, a nonprofit that provides creatives with a hands-on learning experience in film and video production. She was named Best Director in 2023 at the Indie Film Fest in Phoenix, AZ. The Indianapolis-based filmmaker is consulting with the Jacobs School of Music as a cinematographer to create a documentary of the production of IU Opera Theater's "Anne Frank." (July 2024)
