Aaricka Washington is one of 20 recipients of the 2019 ProPublica Diversity Scholarship and will receive funding to attend the Investigative Reporters and Editors conference. Washington is an M.S. student at Columbia Journalism School. She served as a Teach for America 2014 corps member in Houston and as an AmeriCorps VISTA member in Indianapolis, where she supported more than 1,000 low-income students in obtaining full-tuition scholarships for college.
