Deanna Allbrittin recently won an Edward R. Murrow award under the category of Television | Small Market for Best News Series, "Retracing Roots," by WRIC in Richmond, Virginia. Allbrittin is an anchor at ABC 8News in Richmond. Previously, she was a reporter and fill-in anchor at WFTV in Orlando, Florida, where she produced investigative and special reports for the station's nightly newscasts. She received an Emmy nomination for a series of investigative stories on high water bills for people living in apartments and predatory leasing in affordable housing. 

Allbrittin has also reported at WXIN/WTTV in Indianapolis and WFIE in Evansville. While in Evansville, she created a live community food drive competition that earned state Associated Press awards and continues today.  She has dedicated herself to volunteering with programs focused on reducing food insecurity, improving childhood literacy rates, and raising awareness of substance use disorders. (May 2024)
