Kay Ann Fry passed away Feb. 25, 2025, at the age of 70.

Fry lived by the core tenets of journalism her whole life, reporting both sides of every story, and speaking truth to power. She demonstrated a passion for research and community building and helped organize community events in Decatur, Ohio, including the Decatur Bicentennial, election luncheons, the Halloween Fall Festival, and countless other fundraisers and functions.

Fry also collected and chronicled the history of Decatur and its people in the Byrd Township Museum found in the Byrd Twp. Community Center.
