Donna (Steckman) Cumberland died May 5, 2021.

Cumberland earned her bachelor’s degree in journalism from IU, where she also met her husband. She also earned a master's in library science from Ball State and worked for the Anderson Public Library for most of her career. After retiring and moving to Colorado, she worked part time for the Highlands Ranch Library to continue to share her love of books. She and her husband, Richard, were founding members of St. Mark's Catholic Church in Highlands Ranch.

Cumberland was active in the League of Women Voters, Girl Scouts of America and the Indiana Literacy Council.
