Virtual HSJI offerings

The High School Journalism Institute is planning to offer online workshops for high school students and teachers this summer. Currently, our topics include visual storytelling, writing and reporting, yearbook and leadership/staff management.

Sessions would begin in late June and wrap up by July 17. Participants would complete some workshop activities independently and at their own pace. Our instructors will also lead groups in several live discussions, which will allow participants to connect with scholastic journalists across the country.

The best part: These virtual workshops would be free of charge.

Students would earn badges for each session, and badges could be redeemed for invitations to participate in live video conferences with media professionals who will answer questions about their journalism careers and the industry.

Before we can move forward, though, we need to gather as much data as possible from students and teachers to gauge interest. Please complete this brief survey as soon as possible. It should take no longer than one minute to complete.
