Wounded Galaxies to present panel: “Reflections on the Forgotten Films of Global 1968”

Wounded Galaxies 1968: Beneath the Paving Stones, the Beach Festival and Symposium is a festival of experimental media and academic symposium that will take place Feb. 5-11 on IU’s campus.

Wounded Galaxies will present a panel, “Reflections on the Forgotten Films of Global 1968,” at 10:15 a.m. Feb. 9 at the School of Global and International Studies building auditorium. Panelists include:

  • Sara Saljoughi (University of Toronto, Scarborough): “Rethinking the Iranian New Wave: New Realism and Residual Failures”
  • Christina Gerhardt (University of Hawaii at Manoa): “Helke Sander’s dffb Films and West Germany’s Feminist Movement”
  • Sarah Hamblin (University of Massachusetts, Boston): “Mourning Revolution: John Abraham and India’s Melancholy ’68”
  • Morgan Adamson (Macalester College): “Reading Cinematic Resistance in the Zone”
