Wounded Galaxies to present panel: “Punk, Pop and Resistance”

Wounded Galaxies 1968: Beneath the Paving Stones, the Beach Festival and Symposium is a festival of experimental media and academic symposium that will take place Feb. 6-11 on IU’s campus.

Wounded Galaxies will present a panel, “Punk, Pop and Resistance,” at 8:30 a.m. Feb. 9 at the IU Cinema. Panelists include:

  • Elijah Pritchett (Florida Southwestern State College): “Revolution in Situ: The Situationist Influence on the Spatial Sensibilities of British Punk”
  • Laurel Westrup (University of California Los Angeles): “Monterey Pop and the Memorial Machine”
  • Oksana Nesterenko (Stony Brook University): “Sonic Resistance to Invasion 1968”
  • Laura Prichard (Harvard University): “Slavic music resistance and Resilience: Cold War Contemporaries of the ‘Prague Spring'”
