Outside the Agency World: Making the Most of Your Media Degree

The Media School Report • Jan. 17, 2018

Learn how your media degree can be used in multiple ways at Outside the Agency World: Making the Most of Your Media Degree.

Public relations and video creation are just some media careers available at non-media companies, and this workshop will talk about how to find such opportunities.

Three alumni will speak about their experiences:

  • Jim Inman, Jr., BAJ’02. Inman is the director of marketing and communications for the Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce. He has been a local radio personality since 2004, and currently hosts The Bloomington Review on WGCL.
  • Chad Stum, BA’09. Stum recently returned to Bloomington as the new assistant director of video production at IU Communications after working as managing director of Original Six Media.
  • Rachel Gonder, BA’15. Gondner serves as unit marketing coordinator for Sodexo, with past experience working for Pepper Construction group and Hirons public relations/advertising agency.

The workshop will take place from 1:30-3 p.m. Friday, Feb. 16, in Franklin Hall 310.
