It may still be football season, but instead of “raising the flag” this past weekend, Hoosier nation got to raise a banner. The Indiana University Women’s Basketball team was recognized at Saturday’s Hoosier Hysteria for their accomplishments last season.
IU went on a WNIT run which resulted in them becoming the 2018 WNIT Champions. Last seasons legends, Tyra Buss and Amanda Cahill, returned for the night to watch last years accomplishments get recognized in front of the large crowd at Hoosier Hysteria.
President McRobbie and his wife were also called down to the court during their celebration. Head coach, Teri Moren, recognized them as they were a big part in their success last season. She stated, “You’re only as strong as the people around you”, and mentioned she would not be where she is without these two influential leaders.
The banner was raised on the south side of Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall. The Indiana Women’s Basketball team begins their new season on November 7th, 2018 against Milwaukee in Bloomington.
