A study by associate professor Sung-Un Yang was accepted for publication in Journalism and Mass Communication Quarterly.

Yang’s paper, “Effects of Government Dialogic Competency: The MERS Outbreak and Implications for Public Health Crises and Political Legitimacy,” examines the blame South Korean citizens placed on the government for a lack of dialogue, low-credibility risk information and media-reported rumors.

The study looks at the role of government dialogue in conveying risk information and the effects of negative government-public relationship.
