Join grad students Shawn Keller and Tyler Andrews as they debut their television series pilot, Maverick’s, at 3:30 p.m. March 31 in the Franklin Hall commons. A Q&A will follow.

The 24-minute show is their thesis project, and the production crew included undergraduates who received independent study credit last fall. The show has been entered in the student Emmy Awards for 2016, the results of which will be announced in late March.

Maverick’s is a drama about a family run bar.  Keller said it revolves around the son of the owners, who is forced back into running the business after the death of his mother, who was the founder.  It focuses on Derek’s struggle to accept his role back into the business as well as the lives of the staff of the bar.  The pilot episode focuses on a newly hired employee named Cal as well as the tragedy Derek is facing.
