Roberts to discuss history, future of visual journalism

New York Times senior graphics editor Graham Roberts will host a talk, “Explorations in Visual Journalism: From Visualization to Virtual Reality at the New York Times,” at 6 p.m. April 25 at the Whittenberger Auditorium in the Indiana Memorial Union.

Roberts is the leader of the New York Times’ immersive, visual storytelling initiative. His recent work includes a collaboration with NASA, “Seeking Pluto’s Frigid Heart.”

His talk will take a closer look at the Times’ approach to visual journalism over the last decade, in addition to the company’s first year of experimentation with virtual reality.
