Patten lecturer to speak on Media School panel

Political media scholar Kathleen Hall Jamieson, who will visit IU this semester as a William T. Patten lecturer, will sit on a panel with Media School faculty at 2 p.m. Feb. 26.

Assistant professor Gerry Lanosga and Media School senior Erica Gibson will speak on the panel, which will be led by assistant professor Jason Peifer.

The panel will be filmed in the Ken and Audrey Beckley Studio in Franklin Hall and streamed into the commons and online via Facebook Live.

Jamieson will also give two Patten lectures in Presidents Hall. The first, “Recognizing and Debunking Political Deception and Viral Deception (‘Fake News’)” is at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 27, and the second, “Communicating Sound Science in a Polarized Age,” is at 7:30 p.m. March 1.
