Patricio Guzmán to lecture, screen films

The IU Cinema will show several of Patricio Guzmán’s films as part of the series Patricio Guzmán: Everything is Memory, April 11-14.

Guzmán also will give the Jorgensen Guest Filmmaker Lecture before the April 14 screening. The lecture is free, no ticket required.

All events are at the IU Cinema. Here’s the schedule:

  • Patricio Guzmán Jorgensen Guest Lecture: 3 p.m. April 14
  • The Pearl Button: 7 p.m. April 14

All screenings are free, but ticketed.

Guzmán’s work stems from his background, where he was threatened with execution in solitary confinement in Santiago’s National Stadium. He left Chile and began making films, six of which have premiered at the Cannes Film Festival.
