Cinema to screen Patricio Guzmán films

The IU Cinema will show several of Patricio Guzmán’s films as part of the series Patricio Guzmán: Everything is Memory, April 11-14.

All events are at the IU Cinema. Here’s the schedule:

  • The Battle of Chile, Pt. 1: 7 p.m. April 11
  • The Battle of Chile, Pt. 2: 7 p.m. April 12
  • The Battle of Chile, Pt. 3: 9 p.m. April 12
  • Chile, Obstinate Memory: 6:30 p.m. April 13
  • Nostalgia for the Light: 9 p.m. April 13
  • The Pearl Button: 7 p.m. April 14

All screenings are free, but ticketed.

Guzmán’s work stems from his background, where he was threatened with execution in solitary confinement in Santiago’s National Stadium. He left Chile and began making films, six of which have premiered at the Cannes Film Festival.
