Parameswaran speaks on Race and Media Conference panel

Herman B Wells Endowed Professor Radhika Parameswaran spoke as a panelist May 11 at the Race and Media Conference in Seattle.

The roundtable discussion, “Please Give Us Some Hope: The Way Forward in Troubled Times,” also featured co-panelists Kent Ono of the University of Utah, Jane Rhodes of the University of Illinois at Chicago and Angharad Valdivia of the University of Illinois. Isabel Molina Guzm├ín of the University of Illinois facilitated the panel.

Parameswaran spoke about the role educators can play in sensitizing students to issues of racial and gender inequality, and helping them explore and analyze the backlash against immigration and globalization in several nations across the world.
