For the second consecutive year, The Media School is the local host for the Global Game Jam, which kicks off at 5 p.m. Jan. 26 and wraps Jan. 28 in the Franklin Hall Game Lab.

The annual event features teams around the world creating games with the same theme in just two days. In addition to Media School and other students, game developers from around the region may attend.

In 2017, gamers in more than 700 locations in 95 countries created 7,263 games in one weekend, according to Global Game Jam. Of those, 44 gamers created seven games at The Media School.

After the jam, the games will be posted on the Global Game Jam site, where they can be downloaded and played.
