BLOOMINGTON, Indiana — The Media School at Indiana University is seeking to fill the position of director of IU student media.

The director serves as the chief executive officer for the Indiana Daily Student and its digital formats, the Arbutus yearbook and supplemental media including a student-produced magazine. The position reports to the dean of The Media School. The independence of both the IDS and the Arbutus is guaranteed by a charter adopted by the university’s board of trustees in 1969.

The IDS just celebrated its 150th anniversary and has long been one of the country’s most award-winning student newspapers. The director of student media will oversee the editorial and financial operations of the paper and the yearbook, with a goal of bolstering their success in the digital age.

Student media are located in the central Media School building on the main campus of Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. Indiana University is a Research I university and a member of the Big Ten Conference.
