Late Show actor, comedy writer Brian Stack to host expert workshop

Emmy Award-winning actor and comedy writer Brian Stack, BA’86, will teach an expert workshop, “Writing Comedy for Television,” at 10 a.m. Oct. 12 in the Franklin Hall Beckley Studio. The workshop is open to all Media School students.

Stack, a telecommunications alumnus, is the voice of Cartoon Donald Trump and the Ghost of Abraham Lincoln on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert. Prior to joining The Late Show, he wrote for Conan O’Brien from 1997-2015.

Stack has been nominated for an Emmy Award in writing every year since 1998.

He will also give a free, public talk, “Dealing with anxiety or depression when others are paying you to be funny: (A)musing perspectives from IU alumnus Brian Stack, writer for Stephen Colbert,” at 7 p.m. Oct. 10 in Hodge Hall 2075.
